The Sprint commercial showcases the tragedy of the commons. The family wants to keep their cell phone plan costs down by sharing minutes but each family member still wants to use their individual devices whenever they want. This is the basic problem with shared or pooled resources, they tend to be overused. If that happens, the family would pay overage fees, hence the tragedy of the commons! This is an example that most students (who are often on a family plan) will relate to.
