Paul Newman decides to eat 50 eggs on a whim in order to spice things up while in prison. This scene is an excellent illustration of diminishing marginal utility. The other prisoners wager on whether or not Newman will be able to eat the eggs. He plays along to maximize the wager, only to pull through at the end. There is an unforgettable ending with Newman sprawled out on a table unable to move because he is so full. This is a great scene to use when discussing utility theory.
